Our client is an entrepreneurial food business who are widely known and respected for their market leading products. Operating from an expanding site in the South East, they are now looking for a Quality Manager to promote the highest levels of food safety and quality across the business.
Reporting to the Technical Manager you will play a key part in upholding the company’s high standards through the effective management of site QA systems and the QA team.
Your responsibilities will include:
•Overseeing QA and Hygiene teams in the delivery of site KPIs, monitoring team progress and driving changes necessary to guarantee all company and legislative requirements are met including HACCP and BRC
•Liaising with customers on any quality queries, providing support to resolve potential issues whilst working with internal teams including NPD, Technical and Production to minimise potential risks or complaints
•Investigating incidents and non-conformances, ensuring closure of non-conformances by the relevant teams
•Managing internal QA systems and audit schedules, maintaining documentation and compiling reports to ensure customer specifications are adhered to through all stages of development and production
•Deputising for the Technical Manager
We are looking for a talented QA Manager educated to degree level with proven experience in a quality management role within food manufacturing, ideally in the chilled sector. Experience and knowledge of third party audit requirements including BRC and major retailers is essential for this role as is HACCP Level 3 and a solid microbiological understanding.
You’ll be confident and articulate with excellent analytical and problem solving skills in order to resolve issues and implement improvements. You must also have great team management skills coupled with the credibility to influence and support your key customer base.
